Welcome to our first installment of our weekly Hot Ink Summer writing prompt series!
Each Sunday morning we will send you a writing prompt to help you set your intention for the busy week ahead. These prompts will stoke your inspiration and fire you up to write something—anything, be it a list, a journal entry, or a full-blown story. Check out our introduction post for more information and writing process tips!
Now let’s get into it.
School’s Out For Summer
Let’s lean into the summer break moment and think about that last day of school in this week’s prompt.
This week, write a story or essay about a last day of school.
This could be your kids' last day of school, your last day of school, or even a riff on that epic last day of school in Dazed & Confused. You could use the last day of school as a jumping off point for a short story or it could even serve as a metaphor You interpret it as you will.
Feel free to share snippets of your thoughts and ideas from this week’s prompt in the comments. Also, remember to let us know what seems to be working with your writing process.
Can’t wait to see what comes of this post!
