Welcome to the June 22nd installment of our weekly Hot Ink Summer writing prompt series! Each Sunday morning we will send you a writing prompt to help you set your intention for the busy week ahead. Check out our introduction post for more information and writing process tips!
Summer Vacation
It's summer vacation for most of us.
For most kids, summer vacation is the ultimate definition of joy. It is lemonade stands, adventure-filled days, and staying out until the sun sets. But for parents, the joy of summer vacation sometimes feels overwhelmed by the logistical nightmare of signing up the kids for camps and coordinating carpool. Yet, there is still so many moments of joy for parents in the slower pace and the warm and long days.
So this week, we're reflecting on summer vacation.
What does summer vacation make you think of? What do you desire from your summer vacations? What are your ideal summer vacations? What is a nightmare summer vacation?
Write an essay or story based on what you are feeling and thinking.
And, as always, post any of your writing, inspiration, and reflections on your process in the comments.
Until next week!
I scheduled my Substack post in response to this prompt for tomorrow morning... it was a fun one to think about! I want to reclaim summer vacation. :)
