Dear Friends,
How are you? How are you feeling? Are you like me and your nervous system is on high alert with the barrage of bad news? Are you struggling to figure out how to direct your fear and rage and sadness?
It’s tough to be a caring citizen in this world right now.
Admittedly, I’ve been flipping back and forth between escapism (I’ve been choosing romance novels) and doom-scrolling. While the escapism is necessary every once in awhile, the doom-scrolling never is. I’ve needed something to keep me from just standing there staring at my phone as my body melts from the inside. I’ve needed something to help me find my own way to take action. I’ve needed a way to help figure out what actions are within my power. Of course, that answer is clear, the power I have is through my writing. And so is yours!
That’s exactly why we’ve asked activist and journalist,
, to lead a virtual session next week called “Writing for Change: Using Our Gifts to Resist.”This is for those of you who need a boost of energy and inspiration to find your voice in the resistance. It is for those of you who are craving a community of writers who are feeling the same as you and seeking for ways to take action. It is for writers who want to make a difference with their words. In short, this session is for YOU!
Anya will lead us through an interactive session where we’ll come away with concrete ideas, and even the beginnings of some written content, to take action.
The cost for the session is sliding scale starting at $10 and we’d love for you to be there. We will be recording the session and sending the link to everyone who registered, so if you can’t make it live, you can still participate.
And we’re excited to hear what you all get from this session. We believe in the power of collective and if everyone who attends this session makes their voices heard through various means, you are part of a the larger movement for change.
We can’t wait to see you there!
Anya’s session is kicking off an incredible Winter/Spring line-up of virtual sessions as well as in-person mini-retreats in Portland and Minneapolis!
