We're Back and Some Updates

Hello Friends of the Write Like a Mother Substack,

First, apologies for taking an unannounced pause to our Substack. The truth is that this spring has been incredibly busy. We’ve had a slew of incredible virtual and in-person events these last couple months and on top of that we have our day jobs. So this just wasn’t at the top of the list. Most of you are moms, so we know you get it :). But we love you and we’ve got plans to post more regularly moving forward. So here are some updates both on what we have going on outside and inside the Substack.

Outside Substack

The Spring workshop and event lineup is still going strong with three upcoming events—one of which starts TOMORROW, “Brightly Burning: Community for Primary Caregivers” with poet, Sarah Esmi. And next Tuesday, May 7th for those of you in Portland, Oregon, we have a FREE in-person moms-who-write reading and panel discussion at Broadway Books. And to cap off the season, a number of lucky writers get to be in community with the phenomenal Amanda Montei for her session on “Embracing Interruption.”

Writing Groups

We are currently working on organizing facilitators for virtual writing groups that will be topic specific, such as the business of writing, sit-and-write groups, or writing craft groups. Most will be virtual, but we’re working on an in-person Seattle group. These groups will be available to paid subscribers of the Substack!
