Scribente Regional Chapters Launch!
Kicking it off with events in the DC-area, Minneapolis, Portland, Oakland, and Central Oregon!
Come one come all! The Scribente Maternum regional chapters are officially launching!
We are excited to announce that chapters around the country are kicking off with various events and activities this month. If you happen to be in one of the regions, mark your calendars for the dates below and make sure to opt-in to the notifications within the Substack group (details on how to do that are on this page). If you don’t see your region represented, let us know if you’d like to start a chapter (email me at elizabeth@scribentematernum.com).

DC-MD-VA Chapter
Sat, Oct 5th (2:00-3:30 pm) at Arlington Central Library
Join the DC-MD-VA Chapter for their inaugural reading in Northern Virginia at the Arlington Central Library Auditorium (1015 N Quincy Street, Arlington, VA 22201). Check out more details and RSVP here:
Minneapolis-St. Paul Chapter
Tues, Oct 8th (6-8pm) at Pimento Jamaican Kitchen
This first reading and meetup of the Minneapolis/St. Paul chapter of Scribente Maternum is also a preview of our upcoming Write Like a Mother virtual retreat at Pimento Jamaican Kitchen (2524 Nicollet Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55404). All moms who write and those who support them are invited to share in this experience. Advanced registration is not required, but is requested.
Portland, Oregon Chapter
Thurs, Oct 17th (5:30-7:30pm) at Rontoms
This will be a casual with other writer-moms to connect and commiserate. We’ll also chat about what other kinds of chapter events you’d be interested in. We’ll be meeting at Rontoms’ back patio (600 E Burnside, St, Portland, OR 97214) from 5:30-7:30pm.
Bay Area Chapter
Tues, Oct 29th (5-7pm) at North Light in Temescal, Oakland
This will a casual time to mix and mingle. Please bring a book (one you love, one you wrote, used or new) to exchange. The chapter will be meeting at Northlight, Temescal, Oakland (4915 Telegraph Ave, Oakland, CA 94609). There’s a full dinner menu, snacks, non-alcoholic drinks and cocktails (on your own dime, sorry). We’ll be on the charming back patio, which is heated and covered if there’s rain.
Central Oregon Chapter

The Central Oregon Chapter is gearing up to launch with an event soon. Make sure to opt-in to the Substack group to get notifications and follow them on Instagram @centraloregonscribentematernum.
